Christina Aguilera shimmers in semi-sheer gown at Obama center opening
Christina Aguilera dressed to impress at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, performing Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” in Chicago. The 45-year-old wore a semi-sheer Prabal Gurung gown with a long train, opted for minimal jewelry with a silver ring on her right finger, and styled her signature blond hair curled at the bottom.
She sang her own version of the song in front of Barack and Michelle Obama and their two daughters. Former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett introduced Aguilera, saying they had asked her to sing “one of President Obama’s favorite songs,” and noted Aguilera had never sung “What a Wonderful World” in public before but “came up with a new arrangement” for the event.
Aguilera has supported Barack Obama previously, hosting a $1 million Democratic fundraiser that praised the administration’s record in 2015 and later performing at a Democratic National Committee event billed as “Evening with Barack Obama” at a private Beverly Hills residence.
