Chainsaw Man's Assassins Arc release date revealed
MAPPA announced that its adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man will continue with the Assassins Arc, scheduled for late 2027. The studio debuted a new teaser during its 15th-anniversary event, highlighting a slate of international characters from the arc.
It remains unclear whether the next installment will be a movie or a return to episodic television. The official Assassin Arc website is not labeled as a movie, which could suggest a conventional TV series, but MAPPA has not confirmed the format and more details are expected in the coming weeks.
In the manga, the International Assassins Arc spans chapters 53–70. After Denji’s climactic fight with Reze, the existence of Chainsaw Man becomes public, and multiple assassins converge on Japan to kill Denji and seize Chainsaw Man’s heart. During the anniversary livestream MAPPA also revealed a new mobile game featuring Chainsaw Man characters.
