Casetify Tamagotchi collab revives '90s digital pet

Bandai Namco and phone-accessories brand Casetify have launched a Tamagotchi range that includes Y2K-themed phone cases, straps, collector cards and a limited-edition Casetify Tamagotchi exclusive to the collaboration. The Limited Edition Tamagotchi is priced at £43 from Casetify, which is noticeably higher than the typical £20 MSRP for a retro 1996-style unit.

The package includes a matching translucent blue protective case and a Casetify-branded shell, with the logo subtly altered to sit beside sprite art of Mametchi, Ginjirotchi and Kuchipatchi. By the time the Casetify Tamagotchi arrived it had already sold out; it had been available on its own and as part of accessory bundles, including a Tamagotchi UFO Bundle at £118 and a Collector Bundle at £703.

For those simply after a digital pet, official Bandai Tamagotchi units start from £15.98 at Amazon and offer the same three-button layout and LCD display.
