Capcom earned twice as much on Steam as PlayStation last year
Capcom reported that sales on Steam generated almost twice the revenue of PlayStation in its previous fiscal year.
Its securities report shows Steam brought in 40.383 billion yen (approximately $252 million), representing 20.7% of earnings between April 2025 and March 2026. PlayStation accounted for 20.741 billion yen (approximately $129 million), or 10.6%.
Capcom has said PC sales make up about 50% of its game sales, with the rest split among PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles. The company noted the shift to more day-and-date releases after an era when Japanese titles often arrived on PC much later — Final Fantasy 13 took almost five years, and Monster Hunter World, Persona 5 and the Yakuza games also made the jump to PC after delays, while Vanillaware is bringing a game to PC for the first time next year.
The strong Steam performance is notable in a year when Monster Hunter Wilds' PC port was a well-known disaster, underscoring how much Capcom now benefits from the growing PC market.
