Butt urges Man Utd to pursue Crysencio Summerville for squad depth

Nicky Butt says Manchester United should target Crysencio Summerville as part of a smarter recruitment strategy to strengthen squad depth. The former midfielder praised the Netherlands international's explosive qualities and suggested he could become a regular starter if he improves his consistency.

Summerville, who scored in a 2-2 draw against Japan, is being monitored by United as they seek additional attacking options. Speaking exclusively to Paddy Power, Butt said: "He's an explosive player, he's good to watch, but I don't think he's consistent enough.

However, the money shouldn’t be a lot to get him, and United have to build a squad." He added that Summerville's ceiling is high enough to warrant serious pursuit and that the winger "could potentially start every week for Man United." Butt also flagged a wider problem at Old Trafford, arguing the club must improve the quality beyond the starting XI so replacements can change games and maintain standards.
