Bunnie Xo says she and Jelly Roll pursued IVF before divorce
Bunnie Xo wrote that she and her now-estranged husband Jelly Roll had been trying to have a baby and described their in vitro fertilization journey as “rough.” In her memoir, published in February, she recalled several painful abortion experiences, including one at 16 that she says went wrong, and two ectopic pregnancies.
She wrote that the couple began IVF in 2019 and had found a surrogate to carry their child. “We have decided to use my own eggs with J’s sperm — and we are trying for twins,” she wrote, adding that the process has been difficult but that she believes “God has a plan.” She also said, “I didn’t have another way besides IVF,” and that her mental health could not handle other options.
Bunnie, who served as a stepmother to Jelly Roll’s two children, daughter Bailee Ann, 18, and son Noah Buddy, 9, wrote that the pregnancy experiences she described in the book nearly “killed” her and left her determined to be a voice for other women going through similar struggles.
