Brighton make £30m bid for Luka Vuskovic after rejecting Spurs bids for Van Hecke
Brighton have lodged a £30 million bid for Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic as they look to strengthen after qualifying for European football. The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back has emerged as a key target for Fabian Hurzeler. Vuskovic enhanced his reputation during a loan at Hamburg, where he scored six goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances.
He is keen on a move to Brighton but is currently away with Croatia at the 2026 World Cup and is expected to delay any final decision until after the tournament. The bid arrives amid ongoing dealings between the clubs over Jan Paul van Hecke. Brighton chief executive Paul Barber confirmed Spurs had made two approaches for the Netherlands international, both of which were rejected, and the club value Van Hecke at £70m as it seeks to retain squad depth.
Tottenham face a difficult summer as they balance immediate defensive needs with long-term planning.
