The first trailer for Heart of the Beast shows Brad Pitt fighting his way out of the Alaskan wilderness. He plays a retired Army Special Forces soldier who, after a devastating accident, must escape the harsh landscape with his canine companion. The film is scheduled for release on Sept. 25, 2026.

The footage flashes back to their time in the military, revealing the German Shepherd lost its teeth and a leg in battle. Their plane crashes into the wilderness, forcing them to contend with the elements and wildlife; the trailer ends with Pitt fending off a pack of hungry wolves. The cast includes J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe.

Heart of the Beast reunites Pitt with director David Ayer more than a decade after Fury and leans on Pitt as a one-man show. Ayer told GQ: "He’s a beast. He was vulnerable and exposed himself in a way that I haven't seen before. A constant theme from people who have seen the film is just how raw and believable and profound his performance is."
