First look: Brad Pitt's Heart of the Beast arrives Sept. 25
First look action photos for Heart of the Beast have surfaced, and the Brad Pitt thriller is slated to arrive Sept. 25.
Pitt plays James Belmont, a Special Forces officer whose plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness, leaving him stranded with his combat dog, Odin. The film frames a survival story around man-versus-nature stakes as Belmont contends with brutal weather, isolation and other hazards.
David Ayer, who directed The Beekeeper and End of Watch, helms the project; he and Pitt previously worked together on Fury in 2014. Early images lean into action, drawing comparisons to The Grey and suggesting there may be more than pure wilderness survival at play. Heart of the Beast opens Sept. 25, while Jason Statham's Mutiny arrives a month earlier, on Aug. 21.
