Costume designer used Booby Tape for Allie’s viral J.Lo dress
In Prime Video’s Off Campus, Allie (Mika Abdalla) wears a re-creation of Jennifer Lopez’s famous 2000 Grammys Versace jungle dress. Weeks after the series debuted, a clip of Abdalla in the gown continued to go viral and even earned a shout-out from Lopez. Costume designer Charlene Akuamoah said the gravity-defying gown required careful planning and plenty of fashion tape.
"Our go-to tape was Booby Tape," she revealed, adding that she also "really loves" Nippies tape and nipple covers, noting they "have an incredible array of skin tones, which is always so important to me." Booby Tape is billed as the "world’s first and original breast lift tape," designed for a supportive, push-up look sans bra; the brand even makes tiny tape scissors for a clean cut.
Nippies gets strong reviews on Amazon and has been name-dropped by other stylists as a kit essential, and B-Six Nippies skin nipple covers are carried at Bloomingdale's, Bare Necessities and B-Six.
