Blizzard will add Discord chat to World of Warcraft guilds

Blizzard will integrate Discord chat directly into World of Warcraft in patch 12.1, Curse of Ula'tek, enabling cross-platform guild chat. Messages will appear both in the game and in Discord, and guilds can choose either a single combined chat or separate channels.

Players must link their Battle.net and Discord accounts and have a guild leader or officer configure the settings. Once enabled, Discord messages will show in-game with the Discord logo beside them. The change should help large, multi–time-zone guilds that find WoW’s in-game chat limited, particularly when trying to scroll through message archives across several days.

It should also spare players on single monitors or laptops from switching out of the game to check Discord.
