Blind date: wine, crackers and a friendly peck
Alex and Ellie met for dinner at Pasta Ripiena in Bristol. They had hoped for good conversation, laughter and an enjoyable evening.
Alex described Ellie as pretty, stylish and relaxed, noting her warm smile and infectious laugh. Ellie said she felt at ease as soon as she met him, despite both being nervous at first.
They talked about work, travel, shared Bristol connections, an unexpected link to a Swindon nightclub, Ellie's personal-training side hustle and Alex's cycling. The most awkward moments were brittle crackers that made a mess and a piece of food that fell from Ellie's mouth; Alex nearly knocked his wine over.
Neither felt romantic chemistry—Ellie said so at the end and Alex respected it. They didn't go on elsewhere and only shared a friendly peck on the cheek. Alex would meet again as friends, scoring the night 7.5 out of 10; Ellie enjoyed the evening and gave it an 8, but doesn't expect a future romantic relationship.
