Blind date: Theo and Laurine
Laurine and Theo met for a Blind Date dinner at Rossella in London NW5. Laurine had hoped for love, or at least someone new, great conversation, a free dinner and a feature in the column; Theo wanted a date with someone he would never choose and for something to have started that wasn’t on an app.
Laurine found him very nice to staff, punctual and happy to be there, and Theo thought Laurine was very pretty and asked loads of questions. The conversation ranged from inheritance tax and dream-farm animals to politics, which Theo described as risky on a first date but said carried no judgment.
Awkward moments included a brief scare when Theo said he knew Laurine’s area and a few silences while ordering. Table manners were fine: Laurine offered the last bite of a shared burrata, which Theo forgot to eat, and she said she would have tried the garlic bread.
