Binance’s Yi He flags alleged impersonator; CoinUp denies ties
Binance co-founder Yi He warned on X about an individual referred to as "Zhu Pan," saying the person had impersonated her in failed scam attempts and urging users to spread awareness. Her comments responded to a widely shared Chinese-language X post that alleged CoinUp was linked to the individual, a claim CoinUp later disputed.
CoinUp issued a statement saying, "Zhu Pan is not a member of the CoinUp platform and does not participate in core operational management or related work for the CoinUp platform." The company added that the individual is linked to a project listed on its platform and cautioned that, "Associating his personal actions, past project experiences, or market rumors directly with the CoinUp platform entity constitutes an inaccurate interpretation." The exchange also addressed sharp price swings in its native token, CPX, saying recent volatility was caused by concentrated market selling pressure and that it is investigating the cause.
