Binance says it is building through a difficult market and aims to increase its active user base ten-fold to 3 billion by 2030, Catherine Chen, head of VIP and Institutional, said. The exchange currently serves more than 310 million active users, which Chen said are verified through stringent KYC and corporate KYB protocols.

She noted competitors are struggling or shifting focus; Coinbase recently reduced its workforce by 14%, or nearly 700 staffers. As BTC faces resistance to reclaim the psychological six-figure mark above $100,000, the broader market is seeking sustainable growth drivers beyond retail speculation.

Total crypto market capitalization hovered around $2.7 trillion, down nearly 40% from its all-time high of $4.38 trillion before the October Flash Crash. Chen highlighted a large spending gap between traditional finance and crypto infrastructure. TradFi spends north of $2 billion annually on advanced order management systems, while crypto infrastructure spend sits around $185 million.
