In a video interview about Rayman Legends Retold, brand director Loïc Gounon said Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in active development. After years without official news, this is the clearest update from inside the studio. Gounon explained the studio no longer has a dedicated Rayman team.

He said, "We don't have any Rayman team anymore," and added, "Some of them are working as we speak on Beyond Good and Evil 2. Some others left the company. We didn’t yet have that core team in place, including Michel Ancel, who left Ubisoft." The project was first announced in 2008 and was re-revealed in 2017, and it has faced setbacks over nearly two decades.

Michel Ancel left Ubisoft in 2020; the company said he hadn’t been involved for some time. In 2023 creative director Emile Morel died at age 40, and Fawzi Mesmar was appointed creative director in 2024. Ubisoft confirmed earlier this year that the game was not canceled, but no release date has been announced.
