Bethesda updates Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76
Bethesda says The Elder Scrolls 6 is far enough along to be playable but remains years from release. During Sunday’s Xbox Showcase, the studio unveiled major updates for The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 to keep players engaged in the meantime. The Elder Scrolls Online launches a Thieves Guild–themed season on July 8, the first new story content since 2016 that builds on the faction’s narrative.
Bethesda says it developed the season with player feedback; players will team up with the guild to take on the nefarious Koldane Cartel and expand into Daggerfall. Season One will add new adventures and evergreen systems to create more ways to interact with characters, guilds and environments.
Fallout 76 receives a free update called Infestations that introduces a territory-control mechanic where factions can fight over regions. The content has been likened to raids and promises tougher encounters; a new trailer briefly shows The Ghoul from the Amazon adaptation fishing.
