Best starting familiar in Witchspire

Familiars in Witchspire are collectible pets that you can add to your team and summon in combat or for tasks around your base. At the beginning of the game you'll be given a choice of four familiars to choose.

From my experience, the best familiar to pick in the game's tutorial is Fien, the winged cat of the Nox element. That's largely because of Fien's Uneven Field ability, which creates deadly pools that slow and damage foes that move through them.

Slowing enemies in Witchspire is an incredibly useful power, as many enemies are melee focused and you, if you have a wand, don't have to be. As a result, Fien can keep opponents at a distance while you fire magical projectiles at them, staying out of harm's way the whole time.

You can tame and find other familiars out in the world, including several of those you choose from the starting pool; we haven't yet found all of them, but the community has found enough to assume that either they're all out there, or will be added soon in future updates.
