Jude Bellingham sent a signed shirt and a handwritten note to Caroline Weir as she prepared to leave Real Madrid after her contract expired. The message read: "To Caroline. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. All the best with your next step with lots of love and admiration!" Weir praised the gesture, saying the pair "have spoken several times" and have always "got on well and had nice conversations about the club and Madrid." She added that while she would have been happy with the signed top, the note "just shows how classy a person he is" and called Bellingham "a great guy" and the gift "a really nice touch." Leaving Madrid after a four-year spell, Weir made 125 appearances, scored 63 goals and provided 40 assists to become the club's all-time leading scorer.

She said she reflects "with very happy memories, on and off the pitch," and that her only regret is that they "didn’t win that first title." Weir has signed a three-year deal with Lyon, aiming to chase Champions League success under Jonatan Giraldez.
