Jude Bellingham was the standout performer as England secured top spot in Group L with a 2-0 win over Panama. He opened the scoring shortly after the hour mark and then set up Harry Kane, while Thomas Tuchel's side otherwise produced a largely uninspiring display.

England made five changes after their draw with Ghana. Marcus Rashford forced a low save from Orlando Mosquera and had further chances before and after half-time, while Jordan Pickford also kept the scoreline intact with a save following a break in play. Jarell Quansah, who replaced the injured James, was later forced off.

The breakthrough came when Bellingham hooked a volley in at the near post from Bukayo Saka's corner. Five minutes later he turned provider, crossing for Kane to head home from close range and become England's top scorer in World Cup history. Tuchel's side will travel to Atlanta on Wednesday for their last-32 clash as they attempt to end 60 years of hurt in North America.
