Apple TV+'s sci‑fi series Invasion wrapped its third season in October 2025 on a cliffhanger, with a fourth season not yet confirmed. Nearly two decades earlier, a different show called Invasion premiered on ABC in the fall of 2005. Created by Shaun Cassidy, that version lasted a single season before being canceled despite setting up a compelling mystery.

The ABC series is set in Homestead, Florida, during a violent hurricane when strange lights ride the storm to the ground and a military helicopter is knocked out. Some residents begin acting oddly, drawn to water; Mariel (Kari Matchett), her ex‑husband Russell (Eddie Cibrian) and sheriff Tom Underlay (William Fichtner) find themselves at the center of the mystery.

Dave (Tyler Labine), a believer in EBEs and an active blogger, pushes back against skepticism, while younger performers such as Evan Peters and Elisabeth Moss add to the show's eerie tableau.
