FC Bayern's transfer focus shifted after missing out on Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, and attention has turned to reinforcing the centre of defence. John Stones and Josko Gvardiol were linked in recent weeks, though sporting director Max Eberl denied interest in Stones.

Two genuine options have emerged. Ibrahima Konate, set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer, is reportedly being pursued by Chelsea and Real Madrid; he previously formed a strong partnership with Dayot Upamecano at RB Leipzig and for France. Bayern already have Upamecano and Jonathan Tah, but with Min-Jae Kim and Hiroki Ito available if suitable offers arrive and only Josip Stanisic as a backup, the club is exploring reinforcements.

Yann Aurel Bisseck has also appeared on Munich's radar after a strong season at Inter Milan, yet he was omitted from the World Cup squad. Toni Kroos praised him, and Bild reports Bayern have made formal enquiries; Inter are "open to talks" from €40 million and Bisseck is said to be "interested" in a move.
