Bayern to make Daniel Peretz's Southampton move permanent this week
An official announcement could come as early as this week, with Bayern Munich set to make goalkeeper Daniel Peretz's departure permanent. Southampton are in advanced talks to sign the Israeli on a permanent basis and hope to complete the deal before the weekend.
Peretz, 25, joined Southampton on loan in January after a spell at Hamburger SV to gain match practice. He has become a fan favourite at St Mary’s, making 26 appearances, keeping nine clean sheets and conceding 24 goals, and wants to stay to help the club secure promotion to the Premier League despite offers from other teams.
At Bayern, where he moved from Maccabi Tel Aviv for over €5 million in summer 2023, his first‑team prospects have been limited; he sits behind Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich in the pecking order. His contract in Munich runs until 2028. Southampton have been in the headlines for other reasons after being expelled from the promotion play‑off final against Hull City and hit with a four‑point deduction for next season following a spying scandal.
