Bayern close to signing Ismael Saibari, medical set for next week
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano says FC Bayern are close to signing Moroccan international Ismael Saibari, with the deal potentially finalised within days. The versatile attacking midfielder is due to undergo a medical in the United States next week, where Morocco face Brazil in their opening group match at New York's MetLife Stadium; Scotland and Haiti complete the group.
Only a small gap remains between PSV and Bayern over the transfer terms, while the Munich club have already agreed personal conditions with the 25-year-old. The fee is reported at €50–60m and Saibari is set to sign a contract running until 2031; Eindhovens Dagblad says another meeting between the clubs is planned for Monday and the deal could be wrapped up shortly afterwards.
If completed, it would be PSV's record sale, surpassing Hirving Lozano's €50m move to Napoli in 2019/20. Vincent Kompany played a central role in Bayern's interest, and a conversation between the manager and Saibari helped tip the scales.
