Batman Revealed in New Look at Dynamic Duo

DC Studios has unveiled new details about a long-awaited entry in James Gunn and Peter Safran's superhero slate: a Robin-centric Elseworlds tale animated in stop-motion. The studio showed a first look for the project at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival ahead of its 2028 release.

Designs for Dick Grayson and Jason Todd were revealed, and Batman appears in a look inspired by the popular "Absolute Batman" comic. The plot will track Dick and Jason as "street rats" who eventually split paths—Dick becoming Batman's sidekick Robin, while Jason joins the Red Hood gang.

The film is scheduled for release on June 30, 2028, and lists Arthur Mintz as director with Matthew Aldrich credited as writer. More to come.
