Batman: Knightfall Part 1 trailer reveals first look at DC's R-rated new movie
DC and Warner Bros. Animation debuted the first trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 1 at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where attendees were also shown a screening of the opening film. The chapter adapts the landmark 1990s Knightfall comics in which Bane breaks Batman both physically and psychologically.
The trailer offers a first look at Anson Mount as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Michael Mando as Bane. An official description sets the premise: "When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman’s entire Rogue’s Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point." The film opens with Batman’s weary line, "Gotham City needs Batman," as the trailer begins.
Scenes show Arkham’s explosion releasing Gotham’s villains and Robin noting Batman hasn’t slept in two days.
