Ayyoub Bouaddi stays focused on World Cup amid Arsenal talk
Morocco teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi has pushed back on transfer speculation after a standout display in the Atlas Lions' 1-1 draw with Brazil at MetLife Stadium, insisting his priority remains the World Cup. The Lille midfielder dominated the game in New Jersey, dictating tempo and completing a team-high 87 touches.
When asked about reported Premier League interest and a possible move to Arsenal, the 18-year-old was careful not to be distracted. "For the moment, I am only focused on the World Cup and I cannot answer to this right now," he told The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, while adding he was happy clubs were monitoring him; he is due to turn 19 in October and is studying for a degree in mathematics alongside his career.
Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified Bouaddi as a priority and Arsenal have maintained contact with his representatives, with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea also keeping close tabs.
