AYN Thor and Odin 3 to see price increases this month
AYN’s Thor and Odin 3 handhelds are set to get price increases later this month, the company said in its Discord. On June 8, Wario64 spotted an AYN representative announcing that new pre-orders were available and warning of an upcoming price change.
For the Thor, this will be the second rise in under three months. In April AYN raised the 1TB Thor’s price from $450 to $550.
Persistent memory shortages — driven in part by AI hyperscalers buying up inventory — have made parts harder to secure, putting pressure on maker margins. Valve recently increased the price of the Steam Deck by more than $200, showing similar forces at work across the handheld market.
“The new pricing will take effect once the current inventory allocation is sold through, so if you’ve been thinking about picking one up, now would be a great time to place your order,” AYN’s Nicole said.
