AYN announces price rises for Thor and Odin 3 amid new pre-orders

AYN posted on its Discord that its Thor and Odin 3 handhelds will see price increases. The company says "new pricing will take effect once the current inventory allocation is sold through" and that the "new pre-order batch will continue to use UFS 3.1 storage." The announcement was spotted by user u/crownpuff and posted to the r/SBCGaming subreddit.

No exact figures were given. Currently the Ayn Thor starts at $249 for the Lite version and the Odin 3 begins at $339. The Thor avoided a previous round of increases in April, while the Odin is already $10 more expensive than its cheapest launch configuration. Both devices are shipping from their latest batches, launched at the same time the price warning went out.

The Thor is in its seventh batch of pre-orders, priced at $249 until current stock runs out, and the Odin 3 is in its eighth batch with the base 8GB/128GB model listed at $339 on the brand's site. Older releases are available through marketplace sellers such as Amazon.
