Avatar: The Last Airbender season 3: what we know

Avatar: The Last Airbender season 3 has already been filmed. Seasons 2 and 3 were shot back-to-back, and while season 2 has just arrived on Netflix, the third season remains unreleased and reportedly finished production in November 2025. The final season will cover Book 3: Fire, with Aang learning firebending in preparation to face Fire Lord Ozai before Sozin's Comet arrives, and Zuko grappling with his return to the Fire Nation after the events at the end of Book 2.

The creative team has said they made conscious choices about which moments work best in animation and which can be expanded with live action, so the live-action season will not be a frame‑for‑frame recreation of the animated series' 21-episode finale.
