Australian man charged with murder after teenager’s body found in Thailand
Simon Peter Carman, 46, has been charged with the murder of a teenage girl after a naked body was found in a suitcase in Thailand. Police identified the victim as 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla; Carman was arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport and has denied the charges.
CCTV footage verified by police allegedly shows Carman and Donhomla holding hands in a condo lobby shortly after 3.30am, and later footage reportedly shows him dragging a suitcase from the building between 9.25pm and 9.48pm, leaving on a motorbike with it strapped behind him, then returning without the suitcase between 9.57pm and 10.06pm.
After questioning in the early hours, local police found a naked body in a suitcase near railway tracks and identified it as Donhomla. Authorities have charged Carman with murder, concealing a corpse in an attempt to hide the cause of death, and abduction of a minor over 15 but not yet 18 for indecent purposes.
