Audi's new Q9 flagship interior revealed
Later this summer Audi will unveil its new flagship. The role once held by the A8 has shifted to an SUV as buyers increasingly prefer taller vehicles, and the Q9 marks Audi’s first full-size SUV, underlining the importance of the North American market. Late in development the company even redesigned the cupholders to fit those giant insulated mugs that briefly became a retail obsession.
The photos show what appears to be a production interior, and one of several possible trims. Buyers can choose beiges and browns instead of the coarse carbon fiber shown, including an open-grain olive wood alternative. A mix of textures helps lift the cabin, which favors matte finishes over glossy surfaces wherever possible.
The front layout was inspired by the brand’s 2021 Grandsphere concept, which wrapped its dash around front occupants.
