Hundreds of thousands of fans gathered for one of the biggest parades in English sporting history. The route stretched five miles from Seven Sisters to Upper Street, metal barriers lining the streets as red smoke from flares drifted through a sea of Arsenal fits.

Collectors and DIY customisers were prominent. Shane, known online as Highbury Gunner JVC, sat outside Clissold Park with his daughter wearing an Arsenal-buckled belt, a player-pattern club tie, a shirt and a red-and-white vintage-style duffel, topped by a jacket made from curtains by Joe Brim with an Arsenal medallion and yellow customised Dr Martens.

A collector since the 1970s, he said: "I could complete a catalogue from the 90s; my house is like a museum." Robbie John Allchin favoured a raving jacket covered in badges, describing the practice as rooted in the "spirit of roots and culture." Supporters came from across the world and expressed fandom in many ways.
