Eraser (1996) has been given new life with a 4K release from Warner Bros. The Arnold Schwarzenegger actioner grossed $242 million on a $100 million budget but still holds critic and audience scores below 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, a sign that the film has long been underrated.

Schwarzenegger plays U.S. Marshal John Kruger, an "eraser" who creates new lives for sensitive witnesses. Vanessa Williams' Lee, formerly with Cyrez—a corrupt weapons manufacturer selling railguns on the black market—agrees to help the FBI, and when witnesses begin turning up dead Kruger must protect her.

The story threads in corrupt WITSEC, CIA involvement and lawmakers who rebrand treason as patriotism. The 4K upgrade sharpens the picture and the disc includes two new short documentaries.
