Arc Raiders' Chinese version adds PvE safe zone, global players want it too
Embark Studios is adding a PvE "safe zone" mode to the Chinese version of Arc Raiders, a change shown on the game's Chinese website and shared via fan translations. In that mode players are friendly by default, though anyone can defect and will be marked as a traitor with a red highlight.
The announcement has stirred strong reactions from the wider community, where many players say they would like an option to opt out of PvP. Commenters point out that Chinese players’ feedback often carries weight; Tom Kaczmarczyk warned developers that poor Chinese localization can prompt harsh review responses.
Global fans are also interested in other China-only additions, such as a dual boss battleground that pits the Queen and Matriarch together and new weapon and armor skins, including one that adds lopsided mouse ears. Discussion threads on Reddit and ResetEra mix yearning and frustration, with some players checking simplified Chinese reviews before buying games and others calling the China build lucky to get these features first.
