Apple WWDC 2026: Siri AI, iOS 27 developer beta and new features
Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference began on June 8 and focused on software, with a shorter, more straightforward keynote that highlighted a rebuilt Siri and the broader Apple Intelligence effort. Hardware announcements were left for the company’s September event.
Developers and enthusiasts can enroll in the Developer Beta to test the new platforms; the iPhone update appears to be a roughly 20GB download and brings early access to features such as the Liquid Glass slider, Spatial Reframe and the new Siri AI (access subject to a waitlist).
Apple cautioned that beta software can contain bugs and, in some cases, lead to data loss. Apple presented Siri AI as a blend of Siri and Apple Intelligence, with a dedicated Siri app, Visual Intelligence and deeper on‑screen awareness that lets the assistant follow up on context from photos or webpages.
