At SXSW London, Anthony Russo said the Avengers' future is likely to stop rather than continue indefinitely once the current saga concludes. He reiterated that Avengers: Endgame was intended as the end of a story arc the brothers began with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The Russos, joined by collaborator Donald Mustard, are in post-production on Avengers: Doomsday and in pre-production on Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for December 2026 and December 2027. Anthony Russo described the two films as complete in themselves and said the immediate narrative focus is on Secret Wars.

Marvel brought the duo back after Jonathan Majors's exit forced the studio to retool a Kang-centered plan, turning Avengers 5 into Doomsday. The brothers directed four major MCU entries, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and the roughly $2.8 billion-grossing Avengers: Endgame.
