Anthony Gordon vows to help Barcelona win sixth Champions League
Anthony Gordon set a clear objective after completing his move from Newcastle United to Barcelona on a five-year contract reportedly worth €80m (£69m). The 25-year-old winger visited the club museum and, seeing the five Champions League trophies, said: "We need the sixth," adding he hopes to help the team conquer Europe's elite competition.
Gordon has already met manager Hansi Flick and described their first conversation as "Very good, very positive. He is a great guy and he made me feel very comfortable." He said he is keen to meet teammates and supporters, and that his focus is to "meet the fans, first of all, and play in the stadium, but fundamentally win many titles." In a rapid-fire Q&A the forward revealed a taste for literature and joked about starting a "Book Club of Catalunya" in the dressing room.
He confirmed he has met Frenkie de Jong and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, naming Yamal as the most stylish player in the current Barcelona team.
