Anna Van Patten describes prosthetic BBL process on Euphoria

Anna Van Patten described the process of creating the prosthetic Brazilian Butt Lift for her Euphoria character Kitty, saying it began with a butt scan. She wore the prosthetic during a 10-day shoot for the Silver Slipper sequence; it initially took about two hours to put on, though the team later sped up the process.

While wearing it she was not allowed to sit, so production built a leaning contraption for her to rest on between takes. Makeup and detailing helped sell the effect. Van Patten said "so many people thought it was real" and that "in person, it really did look so real," noting that they "drew on veins, drew on freckles." She called the prosthetic work "fascinating," and described the experience as "really challenging" but "so funny in a way." Van Patten joined the cast for Season 3 as Kitty, a sweet yet naive stripper who works for Alamo Brown; in the finale the character travels into Mexico for the fictional BBL.

The sequence was among the more talked-about elements of the episode.
