Anna Faris explains why she left sitcom 'Mom' after seven seasons
Anna Faris opened up about her time on the 2010s sitcom "Mom" after leaving the series following seven seasons. She told host Josh Horowitz on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast that she loved her "brilliant cast," but the time commitment became too intense. "I do think the intensity, towards the end, I think I started to lose my focus," she said, describing her run on the show from 2013 to 2020 as a marathon.
Faris admitted she had never had a job besides waitressing for more than three months before and called her departure "a complicated time." She said she was hesitant to "chew into" the experience because seven years is "a huge chunk of time," and that she signed on because it was a "really funny pilot" and offered stability as she settled down.
