Open-ear headphones have surged in popularity, and Anker's Soundcore V20i aimed to make the format affordable when they debuted in 2024 at $50. Amazon is now selling the black model for $27, with blue and white at $29, putting them well below the $150-plus tier occupied by brands like Bose and Shokz.

The V20i sit just outside the ear on an adjustable hook, keeping ears open to ambient sound so users can hear music and their surroundings simultaneously. That design suits runners, cyclists and office workers who need situational awareness, and because nothing goes inside the ear the buds avoid the pressure and fatigue common with in-ear models.

Four adjustable hook positions let wearers rotate the buds to find a secure fit, which helps them stay put during runs or workouts better than cheaper open-ear options. Open-ear designs typically struggle with bass, but the V20i use 16mm drivers, titanium-coated domes and Soundcore’s BassUp processing to boost low end.
