Andy Cohen chokes up over Bravo production manager Kyra Samson's death
Andy Cohen became emotional on Thursday’s "Watch What Happens Live" while announcing the death of production manager Kyra Samson. He said Samson, 28, died from brain cancer on Tuesday and had been with Bravo for four years. Cohen recalled her "sweet smile and gentle demeanor" and called her a "small but mighty enforcer." He remembered seeing her "on a bullhorn corralling massive crowds at BravoCon" and urged viewers to honor her legacy by donating to the Kyra Fund to support research for people with glioblastomas.
The fundraiser says Samson was diagnosed at 27 with glioblastoma multiforme, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer, and that she underwent treatment with "unwavering determination" while prioritizing time with loved ones, laughter, music, consuming popular culture and creating beautiful memories.
Her father, David Samson, said the family combines sadness and grief with "unbelievable amounts of gratefulness" and vowed not to be silent about Kyra.
