Android 17 rolls out with June Pixel Drop
Android 17 is officially rolling out, arriving alongside Google’s June Pixel Drop. The update reaches Pixel phones first — starting with Pixel 6 and newer — and will reach other devices throughout 2026. Pixel Watches are included as well, with a new emergency-sharing capability for core detections.
One notable addition is App Bubbles, which turns any app into a floating bubble via a long press. Pixel Folds gain a Bubble Bar for organizing and accessing recent bubbles. Security improvements include temporary exact-location permissions, the ability to share only specific contacts, and an enhanced "Mark as lost" in Find Hub that lets you lock a missing phone with your biometrics so a thief who knows your passcode can’t access or disable tracking.
Live Threat Detection, Advanced Protection mode, and limits on PIN guessing with longer waits between failed attempts are also updated.
