Analyst: GTA 6 code-in-a-box unlikely to dent Rockstar's sales

Rockstar confirmed the GTA 6 price ahead of pre-orders going live at midnight on June 25 (New Zealand can already pre-order). The standard edition will cost $80, while exclusive content in the Ultimate Edition will push the price to around $100 for many buyers.

The game will appear on shelves only as a code in a box rather than a disc-based physical edition. Mat Piscatella, senior director and video game industry advisor at Circana, says the code-in-a-box approach is unlikely to affect Rockstar's total sales.
