An 11th-hour ARG clue upends Deltarune fan theories

An 11th-hour update to Deltarune’s long-running ARG arrived 24 hours before the launch of Chapter 5, and it has the community scrambling. The puzzle, which only 1,229 people have managed to solve so far, sent a new message that could overturn more than a year of fan speculation about how the story will unfold.

At the center of the game are Kris, Suzie, and Ralsei, teenage heroes trying to stop “The Roaring” from swallowing the world. Their journey follows a Prophecy that appears to map out every step, including a final sacrifice the trio do not want to see happen. Players who stray from that path on the game’s hidden “Weird Route” force Kris to act cruelly toward Noelle, and by the end of Chapter 4 a successful Weird Route playthrough seems to have corrupted Noelle in a way that could subvert the Prophecy—at a different, greater cost.
