Amy Adams recalls helping man after he was stabbed in the neck
Amy Adams described rushing to aid a man who had been stabbed in the neck during a family outing in Santa Monica on the SmartLess podcast. She said she was with her father, Richard Adams, husband Darren Le Gallo and daughter Aviana, and that they were among the first people on the scene as hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes listened.
Adams recalled people screaming and her husband noticing the blood. She told him to stay with their daughter while she and her father ran over; the man’s friends were panicked. Because they were headed to the beach, they had towels, and her father applied pressure.
Adams said she focused on keeping the man calm, slowing his pulse and elevating him to reduce bleeding. A year later she ran into the same man in a restaurant. He approached her, teary and with his son, saying he’d heard about the incident; she realized it was him.
