AMD rolls out slower RX 9070 GRE globally at original MSRP
AMD is rolling the RX 9070 GRE out globally, bringing a version of the card that was previously exclusive to China to wider markets. It is a less powerful variant of the RX 9070 offered at the 9070's original MSRP, while the standard 9070 rises to $619 after launch.
The GRE has 12 GB of VRAM, 48 compute units and a boost frequency of 2790 MHz, and AMD recommends it for 1440p play. AMD lists expected 1440p Ultra performance of 100 fps in Arc Raiders, 144 fps in Forza Horizon with ray tracing, and 86 fps in Horizon Forbidden West.
The standard RX 9070 is positioned for 4K and down, with AMD's 4K Ultra numbers at 64 fps in Arc Raiders, 112 fps in Forza Horizon with ray tracing, and 63 fps in Horizon Forbidden West. In our testing of the RX 9070 OC, 4K play proved viable in Warhammer 3 (around 60 fps) and Metro Exodus Enhanced (70 fps), but Cyberpunk 2077 was less playable without FSR.
