007 First Light opened strongly: IO Interactive said the young Bond game sold 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours, reaching that milestone faster than any of the studio’s Hitman titles. IO Interactive self-published First Light. Jeff Gattis, GM of gaming at Amazon, said sequels will be handled by MGM and, theoretically, by Amazon Game Studios.

He added that Amazon did not make First Light and did not hold the full rights at the time; the company’s acquisition of the Bond IP happened after IO’s deal was already done. Gattis described the move as part of a broader strategy to integrate video, movies and games, creating IP that can expand TV shows and films.

He pointed to a Tomb Raider TV show on Prime Video accompanying games and said Amazon has a number of projects in the works that relate to Prime Video IP, calling this a bet on first-party content.
