Amazon discounts AirPods 4 to $99

Apple’s AirPods 4 are down to $99 on Amazon, $30 off the $129 list price for a 23% discount. The earbuds keep the open-fit shape of earlier AirPods while adopting the H2 chip from the Pro line and a USB-C charging case. The H2 chip brings Spatial Audio with head tracking, hands-free Siri, and automatic switching between iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Battery life runs about 5 hours per earbud charge, with the case extending total listening time to roughly 30 hours. Open-fit earbuds are more comfortable for long sessions and let you stay aware of your surroundings, though bass is lighter and there’s no isolation from outside noise.

Force sensors on each stem handle play, pause, and skip, and a five-minute charge in the case adds about another hour of listening. Spatial Audio is more noticeable in movies and games than in music. These AirPods don’t include active noise cancellation; the AirPods 4 with ANC are a separate product sold for $50 more.
