Amazon listings have begun to include AI-written guidebooks for games that haven’t been released. The surge has picked up alongside Amazon’s $50 billion investment in OpenAI and the rollout of the site’s in-built AI helper, Rufus, raising questions about how well the marketplace can police low-quality, machine-generated books.

Investigating release dates, the Substack site Rick’s Game Backlog instead found listings for expensive guides to Alien: Isolation 2 (release date unknown), Control: Resonant (release date September 24) and Gear of War: E-Day (October 6), all available to buy.
